Faculty of Agriculture developed a new hybrid of Guar crop to be harvested mechanically , as a new achievement supervised by Dr. Abdul Wahab Hussien –Teacher in Faculty o Agriculture UofK.
The inauguration of the harvest was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Dr. Abdul Haliem Al Mutafi , Dr.Azhari Khalaf – Minister of Agriculture – Khartoum State , Dr. Somia Abu Kashawa – Vice Chancellor UofK and a number of concerned persons and stakeholders ..
Guar is considered as an important crop being used in many different ways, but used to be harvested manually due to the short stem of the plant, where harvesting process is highly expensive.
UofK received a number of commendations from different destinations for the distinguished efforts being made developing agriculture in Sudan.
