hassan haj aliThe Faculty of Economic and Social Studies organizes its second annual conference between 29th Nov. and 1st Dec. 2011, under the slogan:
Drawbacks of the Separation of the South and its Economic, Political, and Social Effects.
The conference aims at formulating the opportunities and challenges in post-separation Sudan, and introducing an analytic view of the adaptation of the republic in the north to the coming and development of the new one in the south.

Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies, Dr. Hassan Haj Ali, has explained the reasons behind the conference in the light of the various attempts at forming a clear ideological view that aims at initiating and supporting two cooperating identities, and introducing a clearer and more overall vision of the aspects of cooperation between the two sides, in addition to forming the wholesome economic policies with the political precautions through the treatment of the negative social effects, looking for means of toleration in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic community. This is overshadowed by many issues suspended at the post-separation era, which are real ascents in the face of the schemes of integration and cooperation between the two countries, all of which require careful studies on the issue. The conference compiles three axes:
1)Economic Effects
2)Political Effects
3)Social Effects.
These three aspects are illustrated in petroleum, foreign debts, currency, territorial trade, and investment administration, as well as coordination in planning the wholesome economic policies and cooperation with the financial institutions and regional and international organizations concerning water and natural resources.
