Prof. SiddigHayati has been appointed 18th vice-chancellor of the University of Khartoum since independence worked.Prof. Hayati worked as
director of the Administration of Planning and Scientific Research in the Ministry of Higher Education, the secretary of academic affairs at the University and deputy vice-chancellor of the University from 2005 until the date of his appointment as vice-chancellor.Prof. Hayatiwon Al-Shaheed Al-Zubair Prize of research and academic distinction and was awarded the Order of Knowledgeby the Presidency of the Republic.He has contributed more than 70 researches, 7 scientific, cultural, and methodological books.
Also DrSumayya Abu Kashawwa, the previous dean of the Faculty of Science, has been appointed as deputy vice chancellor, to be the first female to be appointed in this position ever.
