According to the Webometrics, University of Khartoum comes 1st in Sudan and 18th in Africa.University of Khartoum has come again to its forward status in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. In July 2011, the ranking classified 397 universities and the results showed that the University of Khartoum comes 18th in the list of the best African universities, and 6th in the ranking of African countries.
The leading were 11 universities from South African, 4 from Egypt, one from Uganda, one from Ghana, and one from Senegal.
University of Khartoum also comes 22nd in the ranking of the best Arab universities.
Another significant thing is that the University of Khartoum has maintained its status among the best 100 African and Arab universities for the whole last five years, and stayed first in Sudan, followed by Sudan University for Science and Technology.
