The Academic Affairs Secretariat

The Academic Secretary manages the academic affairs of the university both at undergraduate and graduate levels. His responsibilities include the administrative structures, the University staff and the activities that directly support the university's academic functions and responsibilities.

The Academic Secretary's Office is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and strategies concerning students’ admission, registration, records keeping, assessment procedures, graduation and awards. The office monitors and evaluates students’ academic standards and the development of proposals for ongoing enhancement.

The office is involved in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and initiatives related to teaching and learning and their quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The office is also concerned with staff professional development and career promotion. It is responsible for recruiting teaching assistants and providing them with the training that will enable them to develop their academic and educational activities.

Other responsibilities of the Academic Secretary Office include the University Senate affairs and the production and distribution of the Undergraduate Prospectus and a variety of other publications.

The Academic Affairs Secretariat comprises the following departments

  • Registration & Admission.
  • Examinations & Awards.
  • Staff Promotion.
  • Teaching Assistants Affairs.
  • University Senate Affairs.
